Service Manager Bob Day joined Suncoast 34 years ago, before the “revolution” – giving him the most seniority of any team member not named Schmidt.

“When Bob went to auto mechanic school back in the ‘70s, electrical diagnostics consisted of a test light and an OHM meter – the same way someone would check a lamp today. And Bob has made it through the technical revolution,” says Service Director Eric Osborne. “When Bob started, cars were mechanical, so you would be a mechanic. Today’s cars are electronic. To make it through this technical revolution is extremely impressive.”

“Cars used to be mechanical devices, when parts were obviously broken,” says Bob – an ASE Master Technician. “The cars today aren’t obviously broken.”

Who hasn’t been frustrated by a computer that either drops offline or doesn’t recognize the printer? Imagine the complicated technology required to operate today’s vehicles.

“We deal with a lot of intermittent problems. So, at times, I call myself a ‘professional ghost chaser,’” laughs Bob. “I’ll frequently ride with customers in hopes that the problem reveals itself audibly or visually.”

“In Bob, you actually have somebody up front who is in a management position, but truly understands and can help in the process of repairing automobiles,” says Eric. “That’s a huge benefit to our Service Department, and great for our customers.”

Professionally, Bob has evolved from a mechanic to a technician. But he still enjoys returning to his roots during off-time.

“I own a 1975 Harley Davidson Shovelhead that I restored from the ground up,” explains Bob. “Although, I’ve been thinking about selling it.”

If you’re a regular visitor to our blog, you’ll know we’ve interviewed the folks who design and engineer our beloved vehicles. They’ve given us an “insiders” perspective on what they do and how they make some of the world’s best off-road vehicles. When they are not in the office, this group of passionate and hardworking Jeep engineers spends their time on the trails and rocks pushing the Jeep_®product lineup to the limit. Last month, we caught up with Phil Jansen, chief engineer on the award winning 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and asked him some questions about the role he and his team played in reinventing this iconic SUV.

Q: Tell us little about your background with Chrysler Group LLC.

PJ: I’ve been with the company for almost 27 years in which two-thirds of that time has been associated with the Jeep brand in a number of different programs and areas. I am very passionate about the Jeep brand because it has the elements of freedom, capability and fun which are still the most important from an internal and consumer perspective. The people involved and the proud brand history, create a special internal bond within the team. I’m also a Jeep enthusiast and have attended a number of Jamborees and other off-road events to test the vehicle’s off-road capability. Additionally, I’m a Grand Cherokee fan, not only because I have been involved in the past four generations, but because it’s the vehicle my family and I enjoy the most. It provides the perfect blend of everyday comfort and capability to use in any environment.

Q: Can you give us some details on how the award winning 3.6L Pentastar V6 came about?

PJ: The goal of the Pentastar program was to capture the best attributes of what’s out there in the market place along with consolidating our engine applications to one high-end V6 that meets the customer needs. To be competitive in the market today, you need a world class V6 gas engine that is very efficient in terms of fuel usage, weight, torque, and power. We, as a company, wanted to have a V6 engine that we could use across our line-up and deliver the level of fuel efficiency and performance our customers expect.

Q: The Jeep brand and its patented Quadra-Trac® and Quadra-Drive four-wheel drive systems are legendary. What improvements did your team make to the new Selec-Terrain™ system on the 2011 Grand Cherokee?

PJ: When it comes to the Jeep brand, and specifically the Grand Cherokee, the real focus is on traction capability. The Quadra-Trac I system has an all-new transfer case that is much lighter and more energy efficient. We coupled that with two new open front and rear differentials with brake-locking control software. Quadra-Trac I serves the needs of many of our customers in everyday driving. Quadra-Trac II system takes this system further in regards to capability. We developed a two-speed transfer case with active torque control which was new for the Grand Cherokee. It allowed us to move the engines torque from front to rear seamlessly where the customer doesn’t have to interact with the vehicle. In our Quadra-Drive II system, we utilized the two-speed transfer case with active torque and added an electrical locking slip differential (ELSD) in the rear axle. What that does is move torque right and left independent of the braking. So now you have torque transfer in the middle, torque transfer in the rear differential, and then still have a brake locking differential on the front. These system adjustments increased the level of overall capability and traction.

On top of the four-wheel drive system improvements, we developed a new Selec-Terrain ™system that provides a direct interface for our customers to optimize the vehicle set-up for various road conditions. With just a simple turn of the knob, the system modifies the torque distribution, transmission controls, ESC software, and vehicle height, to optimize the vehicle traction control in various on and off-road situations.

Q: What are the advantages of the new Jeep Quadra-Lift™ systems?

PJ: As you know, the 2011 Grand Cherokee has an independent rear suspension that significantly enhances the ride quality and vehicles dynamics on the road. The best way to enhance off-road capabilities is to put in an air-suspension that gives the vehicle additional ground clearance to clear obstacles . Along with enhanced ground clearance, we also provide improved on-road performance with an aero setting for reduced drag and a lower roll center for sportier handling. One final feature of the system is a “park” mode to lower the vehicle down for easier loading/unloading.

Q: Tell us the about the interior along with acoustical improvements your team made in reducing the interior noise on the 2011 Jeep® Grand Cherokee.

PJ: Our goal was to put the “grand” back into the Grand Cherokee through great execution, premium materials, and the team’s passion to be the best in the luxury SUV segment. The Jeep design team did a great job on the styling and the full team challenged each other every day to execute better and better. With regard to sound isolation, our basic approach was to create a triple wall barrier in all directions. Added sound shielding was used under the driveshaft tunnel, in the wheel wells, front engine compartment, and surrounding trim. We even used acoustic side glass and damped heat shields to reduce interior noise levels.

Q: What are some of the key safety features your team has implemented in the 2011 Grand Cherokee?

PJ: The Jeep as a brand is about safety and security – the structure of the vehicle needed to be strong for on-road dynamics and global safety. We took requirements from across the world and bound them together to create a vehicle that would satisfy standards worldwide. We made most of the 45 safety features standard and are continuing to use emerging technologies to make our vehicles even safer. Examples include roll mitigation, active head-rests, seat air bags, blind spot detection, rear back-up camera, enhanced frontal airbag systems and much more. The expectations of our customers increase every year and we have to rise to the occasion.

Q: Many of our Jeep brand performance fans were excited to learn about the release of the 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8. Can give us any unique details at this time?

PJ: We’ve created an SRT team to focus on a common set of approaches with all of our SRT vehicles. When taking on the challenge of the new SRT Grand Cherokee, the overall architecture of the vehicle gave the SRT team the freedom they needed to take it to the next level and exceed the enthusiast’s expectations. Fans should anticipate a lot of torque and horsepower coming out of the new 6.4L HEMI and a boatload of luxury performance features.

Q: Are they any updates for the 2012 Grand Cherokee that you can share with our fans?P

PJ: We are always getting feedback from customers and try to take those comments back to the teams and see how they can be implemented on future models.

Noted for "exceptional performance, efficiency, features, options and appeal," NADAguides named the 2011 Chrysler 300 its Car of the Month for July.

"The Chrysler 300 has made the leap from stylish to luxurious with chrome accents, LED lights, ambient lighting and much more....above and beyond your typical feature set,” said Troy Snyder —Director of Product Development, NADAguides.

Among the features Snyder highlighted are the 300's heated and cooled cup holders, power rear sun shade, blind-spot monitoring, Uconnect Touch system and rear heated seats and steering wheel. Another plus for the Chrysler 300 is that it is an IIHS Top Safety Pick.

How many times have we heard that in our lives? As a child and even as an adult, we look to our moms for advice and guidance and call on their experience to help us navigate the choppy waters of life. As we move on and become parents, it also changes us immensely as we try to juggle careers while trying to be good role models to our children while looking out for them. Earlier this month, we met Jen Pate and Barb Machen, two everyday moms who provide a valuable support system during life’s many journeys through their hit online video series. Started in 2004, it has more than 52 million unique viewers and over 100 million web streams that reach fellow moms around the country. The four-to-seven minute segment videos cover a variety of topics and share stories that are relevant to raising kids, managing your family and living healthier.

We teamed up with Jen and Barb to be the show’s exclusive auto sponsor for the third season starting later this year. The PT Cruiser Will Live On

It seems that fans of the PT Cruiser from Chrysler have nothing to worry about. The production of the PT Cruiser will resume at its plant in Toluca, Mexico.

Chrysler decided to kill production of the PT Cruiser from January to mid this year due to the dropping sales figures and lack of future plans to update the car. The Cruiser became one among seven models axed by the management of Cerberus Capital Management.

The other units killed by the management were the Pacifica SUV, Aspen SUV, Crossfire, Durango SUV, and the Dodge Magnum.

The PT Cruiser graced the public starting in 2000 and was instantly loved for its retro looks. Aside from the styling, consumers opted for this Chrysler for its very affordable price. The PT Cruiser became an icon of the industry with dealers being able to inflate the price because of the high demand.

Fast forward to today, the PT Cruiser’s styling is basically untouched. Some minor tweaking was done back in 2006.

The sales of the PT Cruiser reached its climax in 2001 when the company was able to dispose of 144,717 cars. In 2008, there were 50910 sales. As of Q2 of 2009, the PT Cruiser has just made about 8591 moves out of dealerships.

An old vehicle in the line up of Chrysler may be seen as an illogical move by market experts but some sees it as a nothing to lose step since the PT Cruiser sells without lifting a finger for marketing plus the machines used to make the vehicle have all been paid off.

Our Report Card From The Automotive Press

We shocked both fans and detractors this year by unveiling a total of six new or significantly revised models in rapid-fire. While the public went absolutely wild for vehicles like the all-new 2011 Dodge Durango and 2011 Charger, we poured no less of ourselves into the heavily altered offerings like the 2011 Journey and Grand Caravan along with our fun to drive Avenger. Whereas most manufacturers are content to slap a new front fascia on a vehicle for their annual updates, we went whole hog, leaving no stone unturned. Drivetrain, suspension, interior and exterior alterations were all part of the recipe, and we spent plenty of hard-working hours to make sure everything turned out just right. When all of the knots were tied, we took a deep breath and handed our new fleet over to the ever-skeptical eyes of the automotive press to find out exactly what’d they make of our efforts. Here is just a sprinkling of the great reviews we’ve received.

What’d they find? When it came to the 2011 Avenger, reviewers praised both the all-new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 under the hood as well as our handsome new interior. The crew at TheCarConnection.com even went so far as to say that “the new dash looks great, with convincing quantum leaps in style and materials.” We’re glad you noticed.

Some of the biggest news to roll out of our offices comes courtesy of the 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392. This icon of drag racers and street cruisers now has more muscle and less fat with its new 470 horsepower 392 HEMI® that’ll even go further on a tank of gas than last year’s model courtesy of our ultra trick fuel savings technology. All the intelligent brawn won over the crowd at Car and Driver. After spilling a little ink on just how much fun it is to fling this big boy around a race track, they said, “Whether or not the displacement of the rejuvenated engine is a coincidence, the improvements to it and the car it powers were not only intentional, but very effective.”

Speaking of muscle, the 2011 Charger found favor with more than a few writers. Autoblog.com praised our meaty sedan for its slightly retro design cues borrowed from the hallowed halls of the late 1960s “Coke Bottle” design, and Road & Track gushed a bit about the sharp new interior inside the car. “Gone is that flat plastic, boring dash and center console. In its place: an all-new design that doesn’t skimp on softness or style.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

The 2011 Durango received no less love from the crew that knows cars and trucks best. Motor Trend said that “despite being larger, heavier and offering the same V-8 engine with a modest power increase, the new Durango hits 60 mph 0.7 seconds faster than the old model, pulls an additional .08 g on the skidpad and gets slightly better fuel economy all the while.” Even The Truth About Cars shared a little love for the attention to detail that we worked into the vehicle’s interior.

Now what about the 2011 Grand Caravan? We know that minivan buyers spend more time in their vehicle than just about anyone else, so we packed our family cruiser with as much usability as possible. TheCarConnection.com said that “elsewhere inside, the Grand Caravan sticks with the most functionally fleshed-out minivan on the market.” With our stow-and-go seating, spots for seven occupants total and a load of clever storage bins, the Grand Caravan is built for tackling family commutes with one hand tied behind its back.

While there were plenty of models that garnered great reviews from our media introduction, few found the kind of favor that the 2011 Journey enjoyed. Autoblog.com gushed on the new leather seating and dash design, saying “The combined effect is one very clean, very well put-together dash – a colossal improvement on what was one of the most haphazard and discount instrument panels in the industry.” We don’t know whether to blush or cry on that one, but we’ll take our compliments where we can get them.

We could go on and on about the numerous reviews and the positive responses from our friends in the media. However, our work is never done and there’s always room for improvement in any new car. We’re awfully proud of the work we’ve done with our new models. We poured nearly everything we have had into these vehicles, and reading the positive comments on our handiwork, we can’t help but feel that Dodge is moving toward a future that can’t be beat. Chrysler hugging lower designs for future vehicles

According to Ralph Gilles, senior VP for design of Chrysler Group, the carmaker was riding a bit high the past few years. After looking their vehicles side by side with the competitors, the other car manufacturers are producing cars rolling closer to the ground. And it seems, Chrysler will be producing lower vehicles in the near futures to improve the handling, fuel economy, and overall look.

Chrysler will have the lower profiles of their vehicles as the hallmark of their future production.

Gilles makes the 2011 Dodge Durango as an example which gets a lower fascia compared to its older versions and getting a different approach compared to the Grand Cherokee. He also adds that the vehicle will be a more fuel efficient. The Durango RT will also come an inche lower compared to the Express to improve the handling.

The design executive of Chrysler also added that they may need new designers to help complete the work on 15 new vehicles. These new units will use platforms by their partner Fiat and are scheduled to roll out from the factories by 2012 through 2014.

The car manufacturer admits that they are looking for new designers but adds that they are also very picky when hiring new members of the design team. Aside from being a good artist, they are also looking for someone who can lead, who has some spirit, and someone who will fit in their company’s culture.

We can hardly wait for the redesigned Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 to strut across the stage at the 2011 New York Auto Show. Thankfully, we can get our muscle truck fill courtesy of some spy shots showing our favorite non-trail rated Jeep taking in some desert sun.

This next-generation Grand Cherokee SRT8 is rumored to pack a 6.4-liter Hemi engine under the hood, which should be good for around 470 horsepower. Rather disappointingly, the rumormill has the automatic transmission earmarked as only having five ratios, but it's at least said to be the first SRT-branded product with paddle-shifters. What's more, the brake pedal should handily haul in the twisting speedo needle thanks to a set of 14-inch Brembos. [Read More and See More Photos]

Chicago Auto Show: Dodge is 'Never Neutral'

Chrysler Group's Dodge Brand used the Chicago Auto Show to kick off its Never Neutral campaign -- and back up that campaign with R/T versions of its entire lineup, including two versions of the Charger SRT8 and Challenger R/T Classic and SRT8® 392 in a limited edition Green with Envy exterior color. Dodge also unveiled the all-new 2011 Dodge Durango Heat.
"We can't make hollow promises," said Dodge CEO/President Ralph Gilles. "We have to back them up."
During his opening remarks, Gilles talked of the "phenomenal energy" that comes from the more than 300 LX and other brand-related clubs across the United States when members of all ages get together and share their love of cars.
The Never Neutral campaign, as Gilles noted, is designed to meet the expectations from all Dodge enthusiasts and customers with vehicles that live up to lines like:

Everyone is a car person -- some -- just don't know it
Factory-made shouldn't feel mass-produced
Cars can be fuel efficient without being neutered
Car chases make movies better

Here's a rundown on the highlights of the Dodge R/T lineup:
2012 Dodge Charger SRT8: Available later this year, Gilles said the new Charger SRT8 is "not only one of the coolest cars in the industry but the most technologically advanced Dodge ever."

Uconnect-integrated system that only not only includes standard navigation and other features but also performance data of the vehicle.
900-watt, 19-speaker Harman Kardon speaker system
6.4-liter HEMI® V-8 engine that offers an estimated 465HP and 465 lb.-ft. of torque for power across a significantly wider rpm range. While the Charger has 5HP fewer than the 392, it has 80-90 pounds of more torque so that the power "is there, the minute you touch the pedal," Gilles said.
Fuel efficiency improvement of 15% for the city, and 25% for highway, compared to the 2010 6.1-liter HEMI engine.

2011 Dodge Durango R/T: In previwing the new Durango R/T, Gilles included a video clip of the designers and the engineers involved in the project. One called it the "ultimate performance, seven-passenger SUV."

A unique fascia with fog lamps, a body-color grille surround with black texture and xenon high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps.
5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine with fuel-saver mode and variable-valve timing. Delivers 360HP (268 kW) and 390 lb.-ft. of torque (520 N•m) at 4,250 rpm.
Best-in-class 7,400 lb. towing capability.

2011 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T -- i.e., the man van. Gilles said the Grand Caravan R/T, with a black interior designed as a man cave, has "everything so you can do anything."

New 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine is mated to a smooth-shifting six-speed automatic transaxle and delivers best-in-class horsepower: 283HP compared with 197HP in the previous 3.8-liter V-6 engine; and more torque at 260 lb.-ft. versus 230 lb.-ft. without sacrificing fuel economy.
All-black interior features exclusive perforated black leather seats with red stitching, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob and a premium sound system with nine-speakers, a subwoofer and 506-watt amplifier.

Randy L. Foreback first got into Ram Truck products when he got acquainted with a special-order ’76 two-wheel drive half-ton pickup with a massive 440 four-barrel V8 under the hood. We think he tells it best.

“The special order was for a 440 4bbl automatic. It was just a screaming truck with Cherry Bombs that would definitely disturb the peace.”

Years later, when randy was able to afford his own truck, he snapped up a ’99 SLT Quad Cab with its own 5.9-liter V8 – a truck that kicked off a string of high-power pickups that would eventually culminate in a Hemi-powered 2010 Quad Cab Big Horn. Sharp ride, Randy.

Chrysler Group CIO Helps Open New Detroit-Area Microsoft Center

Chrysler Group CIO Scott Sandschafer was one of the speakers this week as Microsoft Corp. formally opened a new Microsoft Technology Center (MTC) in Southfield, Mich.
Chrysler Group is in the midst of one of the largest deployments of Microsoft Office 2010 in the world -- impacting as many as 25,000 users when the initiative is complete. We have also migrated more than 30,000 users to Microsoft Outlook email. The move gives each user 40 times the email storage space compared to the previous email software – and it provides more efficient ways to search for information.
Sandschafer talked about the benefits of having a MTC in the area, including its ability to offer onsite expertise – such as the Envisioning Center and strategic planning sessions. Both services have allowed Chrysler the resources to give 15 minutes back to employees to do other, more important tasks.
In addition to improving efficiency within Chrysler Group, the company’s implementation of the Microsoft software will enhance its ability to collaborate with alliance partner, Fiat S.p.A., which also uses these technologies.
As the ninth MTC in the U.S., these centers allow customers to work closely with Microsoft technology experts to envision their future IT needs, and then design and deploy solutions to meet specific customer goals.

Buying a new vehicle is an exciting moment in life. It should be celebrated instead of dreaded. Many people do not like purchasing a car because of several factors, such as, bad experiences in the past, novice salespeople that use pressure tactics, and not enough information being provided. We are ready to bring the fun back to purchasing a car. No longer will you feel pressured, rushed, or uncomfortable with the buying process. Follow these steps to save yourself time, money, and be happy with your new vehicle.

Purchasing a Car: The Steps

Step 1: Why do I want to buy a car? What need or desire are you trying to overcome? Ask yourself all of the preliminary questions before beginning to look for a vehicle. How will you pay for it, and how much can you afford?
Step 2: What features do I want in the vehicle? Select a type of vehicle to purchase. There are many options available some for free, and some for an additional cost.
Step 3: Research online because it is the best tool of the informed consumer. Now that you know what type of vehicle you would like, and what features you enjoy, you can do product comparisons and see what the market value is for similar automobiles in that class.
Step 4: Initial dealership visit. Get the feel for the environment and the type of service the dealership is providing. How quickly are you greeted? What questions are they asking you? Are they interested in getting you the vehicle that meets your needs?
- Use this visit to gather the information you need to make an intelligent buying decision. Decide whether or not you want to spend your money at this dealership or with someone else. If you are treated professionally, they respect your time, and are willing to value your business, then you should purchase from that dealership.
Step 5: Research online. Now you are looking for reviews of the dealership itself and not the vehicle. The best type of business transaction is one where both parties benefit. Creating a long lasting business partnership is valuable to both you and the seller.
- Also, if you have a vehicle to trade in have the estimated values from Kelly Blue Book, NADA, and Kelly Black Book if possible. These resources provide an approximate market value for your trade. As an informed customer you should have a realistic amount you would like for the trade. The salesperson should provide you with the current market value, as well as what the dealership feels your vehicle is worth.
Step 6: Test drive. This should be done at least once if not multiple times. Make sure that you enjoy the drive and have all of your questions answered.
Step 7: Sit down to talk numbers. Be prepared with as much information as you can. Understand that you do not want this to be a long drawn out process and are serious about purchasing the vehicle. If you have followed the previous steps in this article then you will already know the value of the vehicle before sitting down. At this point you should know the MSRP and what the total amount the dealership is asking for after installed accessories. Costs typically include but are not limited to a destination fee, an administrative fee, dealer installed accessories, and processing fee.
- If you are negotiating a vehicle trade, understand that the dealership incurs many costs when taking in trades such as: Cleaning / Reconditioning, Advertising, and Vehicle Demand.
  - If the demand for your vehicle is low, then do not expect to get very much for your trade.
  - Several things affect the value of your trade.
Step 8: Finalize the numbers. If the Salesperson or Sales Manager is not willing to negotiate price see if there are other perks they offer. Will they provide you with any free oil changes? Do they have a complimentary car wash whenever you stop by? DO NOT attempt to get everything in the store for free! Remember that the dealership is in business to make money and that the sales person works on commission. Understand the value of your trade, and the value of new vehicle. Now come to an agreeable amount including perks. If they are a professional dealership they will not try to swindle you, and by that same token, you should be a professional customer and do not try to swindle the dealership.
Step 9: Purchase the vehicle. This will typically occur in the Finance Department even if you are not financing the new vehicle. By this point you are excited about your new purchase and cannot wait to show it off!
Step 10: Follow up. What perks did the dealership offer? Did they contact you within a week to make sure that you are happy? Are they making good on the things they promised you?

Overall the best advice is to be as informed as possible when making any
purchase. Know how much you are willing to spend and be sure that you are
comfortable with the dealership. We pride ourselves on being focused on our

Back when they were introduced, the Chrysler 300 and 300c were immediately seen by the entire automotive world as the new leaders in luxury vehicle style and desirability so, it’s no surprise that the introduction of the redesigned 2011 Chrysler 300 has created the same kind of buzz.

There was a look and feeling about the 300 that just screamed SOLID. I remember the first time my wife saw one she said, “That new Chrysler looks like a tank… but the most elegant tank I have ever seen… when can I drive one”. I expect the same kind of reaction to the new 2011 Chrysler 300. It stands alone! There is just no match for this vehicle in any other domestic or import line-up anywhere.

New Chrysler badges kick the revisions off, the winged emblem being lengthened and streamlined compared to the current item. The appearance is decidedly upscale. The new grill has been referred to by some writers as the Chrysler corporate grill however, in my opinion, it sets off the new 300 in a way that is anything but corporate. It adds a more streamlined look to the front end that will undoubtedly be well received.

New projector-beam headlights are reshaped and add LED lighting strips. The rectangular front air intakes are chrome-trimmed and house new circular fog lights. Even the hood is revamped, with a bold middle bulge and a more rounded look.

All new cathedral-style taillights sit out back, with extensive chrome trim. The taillight design is the vehicle’s most obvious change, being both reshaped and accented with chrome trim running down the middle and around the perimeter. Chrome trim also bridges both taillights, running from their bases across the top of the restyled rear bumper and twin exhaust tips. The trunk lid incorporates a new subtly curved lip adding an element of sport.

The 2011 Chrysler 300 will be getting the new Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 engine, but which horsepower variant hasn’t been released yet. Additionally, I assume the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 will remain optional, but what changes it may receive are yet to be released.
A whole new instrument cluster is seen for the first time, with heavy blue backlighting and a techy but elegant allure.

As you can tell by now, many of the details have yet to be released but one thing is for sure… this one will be flying off the showroom floor as soon as it arrives. Keep your eye open for the new cornerstone of the Chrysler line-up, it will be a vehicle like no other.

If your looking for everything good that owning a Jeep has to offer but want to drive a small to mid-sized SUV, then the 2011 Jeep Liberty will have everything you need in a vehicle.

The 2011 Liberty’s 3.7-liter V6 produces 210 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 235 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm and combined with the 4-speed automatic transmission give you an ideal drive-train for on-road, off-road and towing.

The Electronic Stability Control combines ABS brakes, All-Speed Traction Control and a stability system to give you the all-season capability of front-wheel drive with the performance of rear-wheel drive. It determines when to apply the brakes to one or more wheels, and when to reduce engine torque in critical driving situations. As always, performance is limited by available traction, which snow, ice and other conditions can affect so stay alert and always be careful not to overdrive conditions..

This electronically controlled full-time 4WD system allows the driver to choose between two-wheel-drive or full-time four-wheel-drive (4WD Auto) modes. In 4WD Auto, Selec-Trac II® sends torque to both front and rear axles under nearly all conditions. If wheel slippage occurs, the integrated traction control system helps transfer torque to those wheels with traction. Neutral mode permits flat towing without the need to disconnect linkages. Selec-Trac is a registered trademark of Chrysler Group LLC

The 2011 Liberty’s Antilock brakes are equipped with electronic sensors that prevent wheel lockup, offering improved steering control under extreme braking or slippery conditions. Traction control uses sensors to determine how fast each wheel is turning. If the sensors indicate a certain wheel slipping during acceleration, the system applies braking power to that wheel to help it regain traction.

The Liberty is equipped with a transmission skid plate, fuel tank skid plate, transfer case skid plate and front suspension skid plate designed for maximum protection when the undercarriage is exposed to rocks or other debris encountered in off-road conditions.

You’ll find the interior of the 2011 Liberty to be technologically advanced as well as cargo friendly. Power heated exterior mirrors w/manual fold-away and power windows with driver's one-touch-down feature are plus for any vehicle. There’s the Electronic Vehicle Information Center and Media Center 130 with CD/MP3 radio, SIRIUS Satellite Radio and Audio Jack. Uconnect™ voice command of hands free phone and music, is available on select models.

Front passenger fold-flat forward seat and rear 60 / 40 split-folding reclining seat make loading and hauling cargo a breeze. If you need big-time 4 wheel drive capabilities in a small to mid-sized SUV, then you should come in and drive the 2011 Jeep Liberty. You won’t be disappointed.

The release 2011 Dodge Challenger is obviously a big event for the Muscle Car enthusiast but this vehicle is truly a car for anyone interested in head-turning style and 21st century technology.

First, for those interested in pure power, the 2011 Challenger will get a 6.4L Hemi boasting around 500bhp and be more fuel efficient than the 6.1L unit currently found in the 2010 Dodge Challenger. More power with more fuel economy… that’s a win-win for the acceleration junkies.

The long-hood, short-deck shape, wide grille, graceful roofline, and full-width tail lamps will continue to honor the 1970 Challenger two-door coupe. Challenger is significantly larger than the Mustang and Camaro competitors and the payoff is the softest ride, widest cockpit, and roomiest rear seat in the class. In fact, Challenger is the only one of the three that has seating positions for five passengers instead of four. This will give Challenger a broader appeal for the family man that still wants to drive something cool.

The 2011 Challenger will retain its rear-wheel-drive layout but the hot new 3.6-liter dubbed the “Pentastar” V-6 will be a welcome addition to powertrain options. Debuting in the all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, it’s an advanced dual-overhead cam design with variable valve timing and is initially rated at 280 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.

Head-protecting curtain side airbags for both seating rows will be standard. Same for a manual tilt/telescope steering wheel, power driver’s seat, and a split rear seat back that folds to create a cargo-passage from the trunk. The 2011 Challenger’s five-speed automatic transmission will again feature a separate gate for manual-type gear changes, while the six-speed manual’s lever will again be topped with a 1970s-style pistol-grip handle.

Other returning options will include a power sunroof, remote engine start for automatic-transmission models, and xenon headlamps and a functional hood scoop for R/T models. SRT8 models come with xenons, function hood scoops, leather upholstery, special sport bucket front seats, and dashboard readouts that track 0-60-mph acceleration times, lateral G-forces, and other lead-foot data. Leather upholstery will return as an option on SE and R/T models, accompanied by heated front seats and mirrors. Also available again will be a voice-activated navigation system with real-time traffic information; Chrysler’s Uconnect multimedia system that includes USB iPod interface and steering-wheel audio controls; and sound systems that range to a 368-watt setup with seven Boston Acoustic speakers.

The 2011 Dodge Challenger will be hitting the showroom floors quickly and hitting the streets even faster. It’s sure to take you back to the future in a heartbeat.

The Jeep Wrangler has always had a legendary following that is often passed down from father to son. Everything has changed except, of course, the name. The all-new 2011 Dodge Durango is completely different from its predecessors with innovations starting at the unibody construction and never seeming to end.

The visual update begins with the stylish new and unmistakably Dodge appearance of the latest version of the cross-hair grill. The new look is sleeker and more refined. This Durango has definitely taken more than a page from the cross-over play book.

If you’re looking for off-road capability and cross-over versatility this new Durango is the vehicle for you. It comes with the new 3.6 liter Pentastar V-6 standard and the 5.7 liter Hemi V-8 is available. You can get the Hemi V-8 with the multi-displacement system, (MDS) which allows the V-8 to shut down 4 cylinders for greater fuel efficiency when more power isn’t needed.

The updated powertrains and chassis offer more 4-wheel capability, a better eye on fuel economy and a much improved ride. The Dodge Brand continues Chrysler Group's vehicle momentum with the new 2011 Dodge Journey – designed to be a mid-size crossover with “right sized” proportions for today's family that wants it all

For 2011, Dodge takes what was good and makes it better. The Dodge Journey receives a major overhaul with a completely redesigned and retuned suspension, a new V-6 engine and a new interior with room from up to five- to seven-passenger seating.

And that's not all.

Journey also features the Chrysler Group's new PowerNet electrical architecture: touch-screen command center, Uconnect Touch. The Uconnect Touch combines everything from navigation to dual-zone climate controls to the ability to check fuel prices.

Chrysler Group engineers improved routine ride handling in the 2011 Dodge Journey by re-engineering the suspension geometry, adding new, improved premium tires and redesigning the steering for a more precise and coordinated response.

With 283 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, the 2011 Dodge Journey is equipped with the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that delivers a 20 percent boost in power compared with the V-6 engine it replaces.

Drivers also will be treated to a smooth, quiet ride. Engineers reduced noise, vibration and harshness by installing new, premium sound-deadening treatments and insulation throughout the vehicle.

Most rewarding surprise

But perhaps the most rewarding surprise is Journey's new interior. A beautifully crafted one-piece instrument panel sets the tone. A new, larger cluster with standard electronic vehicle information center (EVIC) is positioned in the center of the new gauges. It's a full-color display backlit in Dodge red lights, giving it a soft glow unlike any in the segment.

New, integrated center stack bezels are less angular and more sculpted, and designers softened the radius to make more room for the driver's knees. The heating and cooling outlets are also redesigned to make them better looking and better functioning.

The center console gets a lot of extra cushion on the tilt-and-slide armrest. Lift the lid, and there's a larger center storage bin with a 12-volt outlet and USB port where owners can hook up their MP3/iPod charging connections and hide them away.

Journey also is loaded with an abundance of safety and security features, including:

standard advanced multi-stage front passenger air bags,
active head restraints,
electronic stability control (ESC) with all-speed traction control,
electronic roll mitigation and brake assist,
new driver-side knee blocker air bag,
supplemental side-curtain air bags covering all three rows,
supplemental front-seat-mounted side air bags,
four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes,
LATCH child seat anchor system, and
trailer sway control.

The Dodge Journey is built at Chrysler Group LLC's Toluca Assembly Plant in Toluca, Mexico. It will arrive in U.S. dealerships during fourth quarter of 2010.
